USO Invites Public to Participate in Inaugural Virtual Spring Break 5K
From April 24 - 30, 2021, the USO will host their inaugural USO Spring Break Virtual 5K.
The USO invites the public to spring into action and enjoy the great outdoors while supporting our service members and their families who sacrifice so much for our great nation.
Participants of all fitness levels are encouraged to run, walk, skip, jump, swim or bike their way to 3.1 miles, putting their efforts toward a good cause and being a Force Behind the Forces®
“Although spring break activities may be limited again this year for a majority of our service members, their families, and the communities that support them, the USO invites everyone to take part in our first-ever USO Spring Break 5K virtual run in support of our nation’s military and their families, while safely enjoying the outdoors,” said Barry Morris, Regional Communications Manager, USO Southeast.

Race packets will begin shipping in early April, and registration remains open through April 30.
Race packet includes a T-shirt, finishers medal and downloadable bib. The first 1,000 registrations will receive a limited-edition custom 2021 USO Spring Break 5K medal. For the 1,001+ registrants, they will receive a custom Spring Break 5K finishers tag.
Cost is $35 per registration, and individuals also have the option to sponsor a service member.
USO Spring Break Virtual 5K participants have a unique opportunity to connect with U.S. military members across the world in these four ways:
• Registrants can sign up for themselves and are encouraged to share their USO Spring Break Virtual 5K stories on social media using the hashtag #USOSpringBreak5K #USORun.
• Registrants can also donate a race, and the USO will give a complimentary registration to a military service member.
• Participants are encouraged to share their race photos and times on the leaderboard, connecting them to service members in real time using #USOSpringBreak5K #USORun.
• Registrants are encouraged to join a team or create their own individual fundraising page on OneCause.
Help support the USO this spring season as we fulfill our mission of keeping service members connected to family, home and country. This worldwide, virtual race event is part of the USO’s larger Virtual Race series that will continue throughout the year, including events around July 4th, Labor Day and Thanksgiving.
